Tyler Sexton


Dr. Sexton earned his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine specializing in pediatrics and hyperbaric medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama.

Since 2003, Dr. Sexton has been an international motivational speaker. Dr. Sexton has spoken hundreds of times raising awareness about overcoming adversity for the disabled. He has written a book entitled God Bless These Little Legs and been featured in numerous books, articles and radio/television broadcasts around the country. Some of these programs include ABC’s 20/20, 700 Club, The God Squad, Hour of Power, The Helpline and Focus on the Family. His goal is to impact people by instilling in them an attitude of achievement regardless of the disability or situation. He strives to be a doctor who gives hope to patients instead of worst case scenarios.

His interest in Hyperbarics was initially due to his diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Dr. Sexton was told that he would never walk, talk or even see. Defying these odds and undergoing 16 surgeries, he pursued his passion of scuba diving and has climbed the ranks of recreational scuba diving and turned his passion into his career as a Hyperbaric physician. Dr. Sexton has published many papers focused on Hyperbaric Medicine and its medicinal effects in many clinical applications. Dr. Sexton mentors children with disabilities and works with many special interest groups educating them in the field of Hyperbaric Medicine. He uses this knowledge as a physician by treating countless individuals suffering from decompression illness and other hyperbaric clinical applications in the United States and abroad for anyone in need of it.

He is an American College of Hyperbaric Medicine approved training provider and also had courses approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Technologies. Dr. Sexton is the Vice President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, one of the two national professional organizations dedicated to serving as a medical specialty society.

Dr Sexton focuses on adult and pediatric wound care and serves as Chair of Pediatrics and Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Sexton has extensive wound care experience and is a member of the American Professional Wound Care Association and has achieved the honor of being appointed the Status of MAPWCA. The “Master” designation was initiated in 2010 and serves as a mechanism to recognize key opinion leaders who have impacted wound care through education, research and advocacy. These honorees are selected by an appointed APWCA committee and then approved by the Board of Directors.

Dr. Sexton Also holds certification as a Certified Hyperbaric Wound Specialist by the American Board of Wound Healing (ABWH), a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) and a Diver Medic Technician (DMT). Dr. Sexton also holds Certificates of Added Qualification in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care by the American Board of Wound Healing

He also specializes in bringing Hyperbaric Medical Clinics to parts of the world that otherwise would not seem to be possible.

Kevin Sexton

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Sexton has joined Caribbean Hyperbaric Medicine and brings a vast array of experience in Management and Sales Relations. Mr. Sexton's involvement as Vice President of Operations for  Caribbean Hyperbaric Medicine, ensures quality installations and education is executed at every location in which we serve. CHM is a company that provides hyperbaric therapy, installation and training throughout the Caribbean. The company is integrally involved in the treatment of PTSD for our wounded warriors as well.

Mr. Sexton has served as the General Sales Manager of a major Buick GMC dealership in the Tampa bay area, as well as Buick Division General Motors Advisory Board. For the past 11 years Mr. Sexton has owned and operated EBS Auto Electric a locally based company serving the need of the automobile and marine industries. Mr.Sexton also owns and operates Victory Suppliers a company based in Pinellas County. Victory Suppliers is an ammunition and fire arms retailer which has attained Platinum status with Geco Ammunition Company an international ammunition manufacturer. In the past Mr.Sexton has been involved as the local White House Advance Director and has organized and administered many POTUS visits to Florida. Mr. Sexton maintains his White House Security Credentials for future service. 

For the past 25 years Mr. Sexton and his wife Lisa have resided in Palm Harbor where they raised their two children. The Sextons have been active in their church and many other charitable organizations throughout Pinellas County and beyond. Mr. Sexton has always had a special affinity for the military and has been active in his support.

Melyson Desbarida

Chief Technician and Safety Director

Mr. Desbarida is a Registered Nurse that has work in different hospitals in the Caribbean and Europe.  He has a vast array of knowledge and critical care skills across his profession. Mr. Desbarida worked in numerous departments which included  as medical, surgery, ER, ICU, cardiology and of course hyperbaric medicine and wound care.

Mr. Desbarida has been involved with hyperbaric and wound treatments since 2012 where he worked as tender, driver and safety director. Climbing the ranks and becoming a well respected resource to his hospital systems treating all of the indications with large focus on DCS, DFU, CROM and Necrotizing infections.

Mr. Desbarida joined CHM as lead the Hyperbaric Safety Director and has created an incredible comradery with our team. He is a valued asset. 

He is dedicated to help our contracted  staff partners with all his knowledge to become a highly skilled Hyperbaric Unit.
